Keegan's 1st Cupcake

Keegan's little friend Oliver had his 3rd birthday party today. For my little angel... his first cupcake. Who says children have to wait until their 1st birthday to indulge in cake? Keegan loves sweets, so what the heck? Here is how it went :) (And yes, I made those cupcakes for the children!)

Dear Gazer,

It's been 2 years and we miss you every day. I believe that you are watching down on us and you are with us in spirit.

We are sorry that we did not make it to the memorial service yesterday. Of course, you know that we are in Italy. Luckily, friends have shared pictures with us.

A lot has happened in a year for us. Keegan was born. Sometimes it is hard to think that you will not be here play with him and romp around. He is so much fun right now and I know that the two of you would be the best of friends.

Lindsey is doing well. She is graduating with her PHD next spring...finally! We are very proud of her accomplishments. Here is a picture of her at Keegan's baptism.

Sometimes Josh and I think Keegan is just like you. He LOVES dessert. Really, he loves to eat anything, but he has a special place in his heart for ice cream and cookies.

Here he is sneaking a second cookie... He thought I wasn't looking.

It seems like yesterday that you were here. Know that we think about you often.

our evening walk to downtown Cascais

Each night we were able to take a lovely walk along the ocean to downtown Cascais. There is a great boardwalk that goes for miles.

I captured some of it on video so that you could experience this wonderful place. (The video is a bit wobbly, but I was taping as I was walking ):

Keegan's fountain

Keegan LOVED to watch this fountain. This was his peace and serenity :) Every time we went in or out of the hotel we had to pause for a moment(s) and let Keegan watch 'his' fountain. If we even mentioned that we were going to see the fountain he would get very excited.

This is from the last night we were in Cascais. We let him enjoy it for a while :)

Cascais Air Show

This is a clip from the Cascais air show when we were in Portugal. We had the most awesome oceanfront viewing area... the Miragem!

These guys were crazy! It is hard to see (not the best zoom on my flip), but look closely and you will witness men on top of the planes! As in...standing on top of the plane while flying in the air! They are nuts! They were "dog fighting", going upside down, twisting, turning and diving toward the boats in the water. I felt nervous watching them 8)

Keegan tested and approved!

I made Snickerdoodles for one of my foodie groups this week. Keegan loved them, of course :)

I can hardly believe my little boy is 10 months old! Wow, time flies. It amazes me how much of a little man he is.

Today we went to the pool. He LOVES the water! Keegan boldly jumps in...over and over again. The boy fears nothing. (I'm not sure if that is good or bad!)

I wish that I would have captured the first time he took the dive(s). The first day he had to work himself up to take the jump. His face was priceless. Today, he looked like a pro.

This is the way Keegan travels. He brings his tent, pitches it and takes a nap. This is where he took his naps in Portugal :) The Miragem gave a beautiful view of Cascais from our room!
